Guidance manual for the use of the OP APMC food basket

30/01/2018

As part of the collaboration of the Operational Programme for Support to the Most Deprived Persons and the Directorate-General for Health - National Programme for the Promotion of Healthy Food (DGS/PNPAS), we have promoted the Manual of Guidelines for the use of the food basket distributed by the OP APMC, which contains rules aimed at appropriate use.

The food support designed by the Operational Programme for Support to the Most Deprived (via the European Aid Fund for the Most Deprived) aims to meet 50% of the daily nutritional needs of the most deprived people through the food distributed.

Among them are dry and non-perishable products that do not need to be kept cold, namely rice, pasta, beans, chickpeas, breakfast cereals, canned tuna, canned sardines, ultrapasteurised milk, peeled tomatoes, olive oil and marmalade, but also animal protein, such as chicken.

The Manual developed aims to empower families in the management of the food they receive and purchase daily, reducing the risk of food safety, including microbiological risk.

The Manual of Guidelines for the use of the food basket of the OP APMC is available for consultation. download in “Documentation -> Guides and Guidelines
