A public consultation promoted by the European Commission (EC) and forming an integral part of the Ex-post Evaluation of the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAC), promoted by the EC, is ongoing until 8 May. It aims to gather the views of the different actors, starting from the beneficiaries, but also from public authorities, civil society organisations and the general public, on FEAD support in the 2014-2020 programming period. The FEAD contributes to alleviating the worst forms of poverty by providing non-financial assistance to the most deprived persons through the provision of food and/or basic material assistance. The FEAD complements the other existing funds in the European Union (EU) and national efforts to tackle material deprivation, poverty and social exclusion. The evaluation of the FEAD support aims to take stock of the results achieved, assess the effectiveness, efficiency, relevance and EU added value of the actions financed by the FEAD under the 2014-2020 programming period. It will address complementarity and coherence with other funds and provide conclusions that may be relevant for the implementation of the European Social Fund Plus during the 2021-2027 programming period and beyond. The public consultation can be accessed via the EU login and is available in Portuguese. The results of this consultation will be compiled into a report which will be published on the website of the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the EC and will show, inter alia, the country responses. On behalf of the EC Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, PEOPLE 2030 calls on partner organisations involved in the implementation of the FEAD, recipients of support or any organisation or citizen with an interest in the areas of poverty, material deprivation or social inclusion and the wider community to participate in this public consultation by responding to the questionnaire made available. In the current programming period, it is up to PEOPLE 2030 to implement European Social Fund Plus support for the most deprived by addressing material deprivation through the purchase and distribution of food and/or material assistance.
