Under operation POAPMC-01-74F7-FEAC-000107 financed by PO APMC, whose coordinating body is the Food Bank Against Hunger in the Setúbal Peninsula, the mediator Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Almada (SCMA) developed on 22 February two accompanying measures aimed at final recipients, relating to ‘Food selection’ and ‘Prevention of waste’, with the aim of raising participants’ awareness of the importance of healthy eating and the adoption of behaviours that generate anti-waste. The Holy House of Mercy of Almada (SCMA) carries out social monitoring of people and families in situations of vulnerability or other situations of occasional difficulties, with the aim of informing about social rights, guiding and providing articulated and qualified responses to specific problems. Based on the identified vulnerabilities and potential of the individual/family, we seek to promote responses, mobilize adequate resources, through network intervention. The APMC OP intervenes through food support, through the direct distribution of food baskets, as well as in the development of accompanying measures that empower people at various levels, thus promoting their inclusion.
